BICSI Training
Hiscall is one of only three BICSI (Building Industry Consulting Service International) Authorized training facilities in the state of Tennessee and has two Registered Communications Distribution Designers (RCDD) on-staff. Hiscall makes its BICSI-authorized facility and its BICSI training services available to Hiscall technicians, customers that want to do their own cabling and even other cabling solution providers.
BICSI is widely recognized as the standard-setting body for the development and design for information technology systems (ITS), such as structured cabling systems. The BICSI organization has membership in nearly 100 countries and its certifications are considered essential for cable installers and designers who specialize in complex voice/data cabling infrastructure layouts.
RCDD is one of BICSI's highest professional designations for designers and installers of complex voice/data cable layouts. Even before earning such a designation, Hiscall's two RCDD’s passed the ITS Fundamentals examination and compiled at least 5 years ITS design experience, 2 years of verifiable ITS design experience and/or 3 years additional ITS equivalents chosen from combinations of experience, approved education and approved ITS license/certification.
The Hiscall Training Facility is certified to teach the BICSI Network Transport System (NTS). The BICSI training courses are 4-tiered, covering installation of structured cable systems from the entry level and management perspectives.
What is a Network Transport System?
NTS is a set of cabling and connectivity products that integrates the voice, data, video and various management systems of a building and there is an increasingly high demand for individuals qualified to design such systems.
An Hiscall-trained, NTS-Certified designer will be able to:
- Successfully integrate the components of network and cabling technologies
- Properly evaluate existing and proposed designs for premises and campus networking.
- Discuss both cabling and networking issues with network users, administrators, consultants, architects and electrical engineers.
- Make recommendations based on current and future network requirements.
- Produce incremental “phase-in” upgrade designs to accommodate increases in network traffic.
