YMCA Mud Volleyball Video

A few weeks ago Hiscall participated in a mud volleyball tournament to raise money for the YMCA of Middle TN.

We had a lot of fun and even though we didn’t accumulate a lot of wins, we did come away with a lot of mud!

Video: Do You Know Where Your Systems Technician Is? Hiscall Tracks Their Techs Via GPS Technology!

Hiscall has over 75 vehicles including fully stocked technician vans with the parts and equipment needed on a customer jobsite.  Hiscall’s GPS tracked fleet is part of the H.E.R.O. program which is designed to provide optimum customer service in any situation.

Sid Smith:  Do these vehicles have tracking so we know where they’re at?

David McLaughlin:  Yes all our vehicles are GPS tracked.  One of the biggest aspects of that is we can tell where our vehicle are at any given point in time and we can also tell where they’ve been.

Sid Smith:  What’s the advantage of actually knowing where a vehicle is, do we provide better service?

David McLaughlin:  Much better service.  The greatest advantage of having GPS technology in our vehicles is our dispatchers can look on the board at any point in time and see where any technician is at and where they’re headed if they’re mobile and we can reroute the closest technician to any customer that may be experiencing service difficulties.

Sid Smith:  David what kind of support does Hiscall provide in the Knoxville area?

David McLaughlin:  Over in Knoxville we have engineers, technicians, project managers, account consultants, so we run the whole gambit in Knoxville just like we do in Dickson.

Hiscall celebrated the  Knoxville Open House and Ribbon Cutting on June 6th 2011.  Guests had lunch and were able to tour the new facilities.  Thank you to our customers and Hiscall employees for sharing in the festivities of the day.

Excerpts from the video of our interviewees:

Hi, I’m Angela Rogers, I am from Knoxville Tennessee and I take care of the Knoxville area, North Carolina and South Carolina.  We are at our customer appreciation and relocation.  I’m very fortunate to have the customers that I have and help and I enjoy it very much and we’re very excited out our new office.

Hi, I’m Angie Ingle with Covenant Health and have been doing business with Hiscall for about 15 years.  The quality of service and the added value that they bring to the table has been superior and we have really been codependent on their relationship as far as their advice and the strategic planning that they offer us and taking Covenant to the next level with our technology

Hi, I’m Scott Echternaught I work out of the east Tennessee office.  I just want to say congratulations to Gary and the whole Hiscall team on the ribbon cutting today.  This has been a great event we’ve had good customers here; the whole team has been here.  I’m looking forward to spending as much time as possible with the team for years and year to come.

Hi, I’m Mary Ann Johnson and I’m the office manager here in Knoxville.  I feel very blessed to work for such a wonderful company and I enjoy coming to work every day and I love our new office in Knoxville.

My name’s Kory Hill and I’m a systems engineer here at Hiscall.  Just enjoyed the opening day ceremonies here, enjoyed some time with our customers who we value a whole lot.  I enjoy working for Hiscall.

I’m Gary Beeler, I’m a project manager with Hiscall.  I’ve been here for eight and a half years.  I manage projects on the large Avaya product line.  I enjoy working at Hiscall because the people that I work with are easy to get along with, they’re willing to help you in whatever you need.  There’s never a time that anybody says ‘no that’s not my responsibility’.  We all jump in and do what it takes to get the job done.

BICSI Training Nashville/Middle TN-Hiscall Has An Authorized BICSI Training Facility Specializing In Cabling Design

Hiscall is a BICSI Authorized Training Facility and has been BICSI certified since 2004.

Two of Hiscall cabling partners are Quiktron and Superior Associates.

Our trainer, Don Atwood, Sr., has 20 years of military experience plus 21 years of experience in cable installation, serving as lead technician, project manager and project engineer. He holds a certificate as a BICSI certified trainer and is a Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD). He has set up training facilities at numerous companies and has trained hundreds of telecommunications professionals.

The Hiscall Marketing Department interviewed Don to talk a little more about the BICSI training facility.  Highlights of the interview below:

Sid Smith: We are here right now at the BICSI training facility and I’m standing here with Don Atwood Sr.  Don what’s your title and what do you do?

Don Atwood Sr.: I’m Installation Design Specialist and I’m the BICSI certified trainer.

Sid Smith: Now the students that come here, who do we actually train Don?

Don Atwood Sr.: Naturally we train our own people; all of our technician carry a BICSI registration at the level they are qualified for, but in addition to that we train our customers and we even train our competition.

Sid Smith: What type of training is done here at this BICSI location?

Don Atwood Sr.: We train on the network transport system cable installation training.

802.11n Wireless Networking – 4 Reasons to Upgrade Your Organizations Network By Data Expert Steven Ross Interview

The Hiscall Marketing Department recently interviewed Steven Ross, one of our Data Design Engineers, about four reasons a business might want to upgrade their network.  The ratification of 802.11n and Power over Ethernet (P.O.E.) were just two of the topic covered. 

An excerpt of the interview below:

Susan Harbison:  802.11n seems to be a hot topic could you tell me a little bit about that?          

Steven Ross:  802.11n is a standard industry manufacturers have been working on for several years now and it’s finally been ratified.  What 802.11n offers are speeds and throughputs comparable to traditional wired networks finally enabling a fully wireless enterprise.         

Susan Harbison:  Why would a business need P.O.E. (Power over Ethernet)?      

Steven Ross:  Any business looking to upgrade to IP Telephony, wireless access point or IP surveillance cameras needs to look at P.O.E. as it’s the most efficient method of powering those devices.
